Thuringowa City Council was the first local government in Queensland
to implement a GenaMap Web Broker and GenaServer solution to provide
GIS access to the desktop via a browser.
On top of the main GIS web interface, there are a series of other
web interfaces for the explicit use of data maintenance. There have
been many significant improvements and back-end changes over the
past years.

The Thuringowa GIS web interface allows users to quickly and easily
navigate, and display the information they require. Functionality
includes:
- Standard navigation tools; Zoom In, Zoom Out, Scroll
- Zooming to a predefined scale
- Zooming to a grid sheet
- Full layer control, where the user can turn on/off multiple
layers at one time. Some layers can only be displayed with a
username/password

The users can click on certain geographical features to produce a
series of formatted HTML reports.
- Property Reports using live data from Postgress, Informix and
Oracle databases
- Sewer/Water/Stormwater Asset Reports
- Reports can contain hyperlinks to other assets
- Reports appear in a seperate window
- Map features can be searched for and displayed
- Online bug reporting
- HTML forms for data maintenance

The Thuringowa GIS web interface contains a suite of other widely
used tools associated with their geographic data.
- Display associated photos and house connections
- Scaled GenaCarto output of current display
- 1:2,500 Map production for Water/Sewer/Stormwater
- GenaCarto output to PDF for download
- Upload facility for associated property photos
- DXF file generation for download
- Login facility for layer display and query reports
