Thuringowa City Council was the first local government in Queensland to implement a GenaMap Web Broker and GenaServer solution to provide GIS access to the desktop via a browser.

On top of the main GIS web interface, there are a series of other web interfaces for the explicit use of data maintenance. There have been many significant improvements and back-end changes over the past years.

The Thuringowa GIS web interface allows users to quickly and easily navigate, and display the information they require. Functionality includes:
  • Standard navigation tools; Zoom In, Zoom Out, Scroll
  • Zooming to a predefined scale
  • Zooming to a grid sheet
  • Full layer control, where the user can turn on/off multiple layers at one time. Some layers can only be displayed with a username/password
The users can click on certain geographical features to produce a series of formatted HTML reports.
  • Property Reports using live data from Postgress, Informix and Oracle databases
  • Sewer/Water/Stormwater Asset Reports
  • Reports can contain hyperlinks to other assets
  • Reports appear in a seperate window
  • Map features can be searched for and displayed
  • Online bug reporting
  • HTML forms for data maintenance

The Thuringowa GIS web interface contains a suite of other widely used tools associated with their geographic data.
  • Display associated photos and house connections
  • Scaled GenaCarto output of current display
